Former Wildwood Golf Club, Alfold

This website provides the latest information on activity at the former Wildwood Golf Club site.

What is happening on site?

The new owners have restarted works on site, including further site clearance and enabling works. These works are being carried out in line with the 2011 hotel and golf club planning permission.

Latest works

During the week commencing 1 June, lorries will be accessing the site to move debris and materials as part of these works. We anticipate this will take around a month to complete. Ecologists will be on site throughout these activities to monitor the works and any potential impact on local wildlife. The lorries will access the site via the existing public right of way, which will remain open. We are issuing an information newsletter via post to residents locally to inform them of these activities and to kindly request that users of the public right of way remain aware of vehicle movements while works are underway.

Why this work is taking place

The site benefits from an existing 2011 planning permission, which has already been legally implemented. These early works are an important step in progressing that.

The surveys will provide up to date information to ensure that the works are well considered and respond appropriately to the site and its surroundings.

What is the existing permission?

The current 2011 hotel and golf planning permission consists of:

  • An 84 bedroom hotel
  • 39 hotel lodges
  • Spa facilities
  • Golf Academy
  • Maintenance buildings
  • 250-capacity banqueting hall

Looking ahead

As part of ongoing work, the project team is reviewing elements of the existing consent and is in discussion with the council about potential amendments.

We are committed to keeping the community updated as the project progresses. This page will be updated with the latest information.
